At Time, I took on challenges from launching blazing-fast front-ends to spinning up delightful-to-use back-end CMS's. I worked across both headless Drupal and WordPress to create API endpoints, which were then ingested by our Node.js front-end servers utilizing Express, Gulp, Stylus, and Handlebars templating. I truly enjoyed growing my full-stack skills in a variety of areas, such as AWS and CircleCI deployment, end-to-end functional testing, and working as a team to maintain clean code bases.
At Urban, I greatly enjoyed tackling a variety of fast-paced challenges while managing client expectations and fulfilling the visions of our incredibly talented designers. I produced multiple WordPress themes, using custom post types and advanced custom fields to create end-user experiences and dashboards praised for their usability.
I started out converting Photoshop/Illustrator mocks into live and functional websites, focusing on capturing the pixel-perfection of the designer's vision while making responsive and UX design decisions. I grew from my initial skills in CSS, HTML, & jQuery to mastering Sass & Git via command line. I also worked on apps in PHP & Laravel, JS frameworks such as React, Backbone, & Underscore, and consuming as well as creating RESTful APIs.
I worked with branding and design products such as logos, T-shirts, and book covers. I enjoyed communicating remotely with clients to create products that both parties could be proud of, while establishing and maintaining my own deadlines and workflow.
As a UI design intern, I produced print & web design products and mocks while assisting the user interface & marketing teams. I also gained valuable experience and mentorship from other designers and developers, and familiarized myself with scrum and agile methodologies.
